A Prayer Request

I believe we have made mention of the Ward family previously on this blog.  They (John and Kathy) were a great help to us while visiting Costa Rica.

For some time now they have been ministering to a young lady named Yerlin.  We did not get to meet her during our visit but were told of her battle with cancer.  In the last few days her battle has taken a turn for the worse.  She went to the emergency room after suffering for several days with severe head pain.  All she wanted to do was sleep.  She has been unresponsive part of the time.  But the doctors were able to do a CT scan and spinal tap.  The CT results showed that she appears to have 3 tumors on her brain.  The spinal tap results came back later and showed that she has meningitis.

We just received a report from around 5:00 p.m. today that states the doctors are now thinking the "spots" they saw on the CT scan could possibly be due to swelling from the meningitis.

We ask all of you to please pray for Yerlin.  Pray that she would be healed of the meningitis and whatever may be afflicting her.  Pray that her cancer would be cured.  And pray for her Mom, her sister, and for John & Kathy Ward.
